This book features a variety of camouflaged creatures with a poem about each. The poems are printed creatively, with some of them featuring text in different fonts, or even text printed in different directions on the page. The photos are an up close and personal view of the creature taking advantage of their physical characteristics. Part of the reader's responsibility is to find the creature hidden on each page. Once you think you've found it, you can unfold the page to find out if you're correct. The book also includes fact pages about each animal, which help to explain how they use their disguises to their advantage.
The first thing I found myself doing as I turned each page was to look at the photograph to try and find the hidden creature. I saw each page as a challenge and was eager to discover what was coming next, and to learn about how each of the creatures use their physical features to their advantage. The photographs are very intriguing, as are the poems about each.
